Choreographers and dancers, playwrights and actors, composers and musicians . . the performing arts department encompasses a range of disciplines. We recognize the importance of artistic development in the individual and society. This development includes creative artistic expression, technique, knowledge of the classics, a contemporary perspective, understanding of the forms, and the discipline required of all artists. It implies also an understanding and appreciation of an integrated arts program as well as of the arts of various cultures and peoples. Looking toward the future our performing arts department at North Surrey main goal is to keep the arts active by performing in our school and in our community. We will continue to bring as many opportunities tour students in their chosen performing arts program. We will help improve their skill, knowledge and appreciation of the arts.
Visual Arts play a critical role in equipping our students to decipher and interpret the visual world around them. Our program strives to impart technical skill with practical outcomes while valuing creativity and personal style.
